घोषणात्मक वाक्यों को इनडायरेक्ट बनाने पर रिपोर्टिंग क्रिया में परिवर्तन (Changes in Reporting verb when Declarative sentences are converted to Indirect Speech)

Overview

इस लेख में हम अंग्रेजी के एक महत्त्वपूर्ण अध्याय के बारे में जानेंगे - Changes in Reporting verb when Declarative sentences are converted to Indirect Speech, in Hindi (हिंदी में)

हम उल्टे अल्पविराम (inverted commas) के अंदर प्रयुक्त वाक्य के प्रकार के आधार पर ही, reporting verb और direct speech की वाक्य संरचना में बदलाव करते हैं।

उल्टे अल्पविराम (inverted commas) में पाँच प्रकार के वाक्य हो सकते हैं:

  • घोषणात्मक वाक्य (Assertive/Declarative)
  • प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य (Interrogative)
  • आदेश सूचक वाक्य (Imperative)
  • विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य (Exclamatory)
  • इच्छा वाचक वाक्य (Optative)

इस लेख में, हम घोषणात्मक वाक्यों के मामले में Reporting verb के परिवर्तन को समझेंगे।

घोषणात्मक वाक्यों की रिपोर्टिंग क्रिया को बदलना (Changing the Reporting verb in Declarative sentences)

अवधारणा 1

आरेख:
Direct and Indirect speech
Direct Speech: He said to me, "I am lazy". (I am lazy – assertive sentence)
Indirect Speech: He told me that he was lazy. (told – reporting verb)

अवधारणा 2

यदि reporting verb का object नहीं दिया गया है, तो हम say/said के उपयोग को प्राथमिकता देते हैं।
हालाँकि, यदि reporting verb का object दिया गया है, तो हम tell/told के उपयोग को प्राथमिकता देते हैं।
(या दूसरे शब्दों में, हम कह सकते हैं कि indirect speech में say/said अपरिवर्तित रहता है। लेकिन 'say to' को 'tell' में बदल दिया जाता है, और 'said to' को 'told' में बदल दिया जाता है।)

निम्नलिखित वाक्यों की तुलना कीजिए:

Direct Speech: He said, "I am careless". (said – reporting verb; reporting verb का कोई object नहीं है)
Indirect Speech: He said that he was careless. (said – reporting verb)

Direct Speech: He said to me, "I am careless". (said – reporting verb; me - reporting verb का object)
Indirect Speech: He told me that he was careless. (told – reporting verb)

नोट

'to' का प्रयोग 'tell' और 'told' के बाद नहीं होता है।

नोट

यह बताने के लिए कि किस विषय पर बात की गई थी → हम ‘tell + object + about’ का उपयोग करते हैं (बजाय ‘said + object + about’ के)।

He told me about his upcoming movie.

अवधारणा 3

अगर Direct narration में "Sir / Madam" प्रयोग हुआ है, तो हम उन्हें Indirect narration में हटा देते हैं और reporting verb के बाद respectfully / politely का उपयोग करते हैं।
Direct and Indirect speech

My assistant said to me, “Sir your team is not as good as it used to be.”
My assistant told me respectfully that my team is not as good as it used to be.

अवधारणा 4

अगर Direct narration में 'okay, you know, या well' प्रयोग हुआ है, तो हम उन्हें Indirect narration में हटा देते हैं और बाकी आवश्यक नियमों का पालन करते हैं।

Nicole said to Tim, “Well, Well, Well, truce is not possible between you and me.”
Nicole told Tim that truce was not possible between him and her.

Heather said, “Okay, I will come again tomorrow.”
Heather said that she would come again the next day.

अवधारणा 5

अभिवादन के मामले में, जैसे की “Good morning”, “ Good bye” ......... आदि, हम निम्नलिखित reporting verbs का उपयोग करते हैं।
Direct and Indirect speech

Robert said to me, “Good morning, I am very happy to meet you.”
Robert wished me good morning and told me that he was very happy to meet me again.

Annie said, “Hello, I am here."
Annie greeted and said that she was there.

अवधारणा 6

अगर Direct narration में संज्ञा या संज्ञा वाक्यांश (Noun or Noun phrase) का प्रयोग किसी को पुकारने के लिए किया गया है, तो हम उस "संज्ञा या संज्ञा वाक्यांश" को reporting verb के object के रूप में देखते हैं|
Direct and Indirect speech

My father said “Alka, you can't marry Hitler."
My father told Alka that she could not marry Hitler.

My teacher said “Madhu, you have come late today."
My teacher told Madhu that she had come late that day.

अवधारणा 7

सार्वजनिक अभिवादन (terms of address, T.O.A.) के मामले में, जैसे की “sisters and brothers / ladies and gentleman / my countryman”, हमारे पास indirect speech की संरचना करने के दो तरीके होते हैं।

Indirect Speech की संरचना 1: Subject + address + Object + as + T.O.A. + and says... + that + Subject + Verb ...

Indirect Speech की संरचना 2: Addressing + Object + as + T.O.A. + Subject + says + …… + that + Subject + Verb ...

Direct Speech: Mr. Bond said, “ladies and gentleman, it is highly dangerous to trust a person like me.”
Indirect Speech 1: Mr. Bond addressed the public/people as ladies and gentlemen and said that it was highly dangerous to trust a person like him.
Indirect Speech 2: Addressing the people as ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Bond said that it was highly dangerous to trust a person like him.

अवधारणा 8

Let’s not के मामले में, हमें या तो "oppose the idea" या "is / was against it" का उपयोग करना चाहिए।

Direct Speech: She said, “let’s not talk about Madhuri.”
Indirect Speech: She said that she was opposed to the idea of talking about Madhuri.
